CTAC operates under three pillars:  Safety, Education, and Opportunity.

The current environment within our city, like many other cities, is plagued with senseless gun violence and murder.  Our communities and families are suffering from multiple traumas that can impact them for years to come without intervention.  This is becoming more prevalent with our children who are constantly being bombarded with violence, neglect and who lack resources, which perpetuates the cycle of hopelessness.  Churches Take A Corner (CTAC), working with strategic partners who are committed to creating solutions that effectively restore public trust and safety.

On August 7, 2021, we altered the message from death and destruction city-wide, to “Peace on the Streets - Healing Beyond Bullies and Bullets!”  Strategically, CTAC realized that there was a need to include the communities because they are the frontline constituents (stakeholders).

“True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice.”

- Martin Luther King, Jr -

PROGRAMS

Our programs are Christ and Faith-centered. However, our programs and services are for everyone regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or background. Men, women, and families are welcome to experience HOPE and WHOLENESS.  In our experience,

lasting and sustainable change comes from making a series of right choices.

That’s why we minister to the whole person–body, mind, and spirit.

NEW ENTRY

CTAC implements its new entry/re-entry 12-week program "Restoration Through Spiritual Development" to assist inmates with successfully supporting their transition back home.  This is achieved by partnering with Parole and Probation, employment agencies, and community organizations to ensure they have the proper wraparound services.

MAN & MOM ON THE BLOCK
MMOTB

Man and Mom On The Block Neighborhood Safety Program is designed to put the 'neighbor' back into the hood.  CTAC trains an effective team of men and women who volunteer to be a safe place for their neighbors.  We will instruct individuals in how to handle emergency situations on their block, identify the appropriate resources and connect them with  peer-to-peer solutions for trauma based situations.
